When I looked out the glass of the kitchen door this morning it was obvious that someone had been furiously excavating beneath the concrete blocks that support the pole for the bird feeders. Which pole is noticeably listing to the side.
Aha! Now I know. Astonishing. Apparently it was a chipmunk.
As tiny as they are, these small striped creatures with their aggitated tails, that is who it was,
shifted all the dirt to dig out the burrow. And stuffed their cheek pouches with sunflower seeds.
